Summer Reading Wishlist

Hey Guys,

Summer is the best time to chill with friends, relax or pick up a good read. I usually do most of my reading in the summer with the exception of anything that needs to be read for school. Is it weird that I feel bad when I read leisurely during the school year? I feel like I'm taking away study time.. Lame excuse I know. I remember there was one summer where I would go through a novel every 3-4 days. I felt much smarter and noticed my vocabulary was gathering a few extra words. I hope I can get back on the reading band wagon like I used to be which brings me to my wishlist of books I have compiled that I'd enjoy reading this summer.

1) The White Queen- Philippa Gregory
2) The Red Queen- Philippa Gregory
3) The Vampire Academy Novels- Richelle Mead
4) The House of Night Novels- P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast
5) The Carrie Diaries and Summer In The City: A Carrie Diaries Novel- Candace Bushnell
6) The Hunger Games Series- Suzanna Collins
7) Elixir- Hilary Duff
8) Valley of the Dolls- Jacqueline Susann
9) Hamlet and Ophelia- John Marsden
10) 13 Reasons Why- Jay Asher
11) The Poison Eaters: and other stories- Holly Black
12) The Help- Kathryn Stockett
13) The Gathering- Kelly Armstrong
14) Wither- Lauren Destefano

Which one should I start first? Have any of you read these books? Is there any your planning on reading? Do you read much? Which other books would you recommend?

Goody Spin Pin Review

Do you get annoyed constantly adjusting your bobby pins or trying to hold your head up from the weight of the 500 million you had to put in just to keep your do in place? Well I have the solution for you.

For years I have tried so many different brands and types of bobby pins in order to achieve some sort of up do. I have fairly long hair and it gets really thick just before it’s time for a trim so many bobby pins are not up to the challenge. As a result I end up using a lot more hairspray then I’d like too or just leaving my darn mop down.

That was until I discovered the Goody Spin Pin. The commercial claims that one spin pin does the work of twenty bobby pins. At first I was skeptical but after breaking down, buying, and trying it out I instantly fell in love with these little guys. First I was afraid that the spiral design would pull my hair and get tangled but they go in painlessly and come out just as easy. They are easily concealed amongst your hair and hold everything in place perfectly.

They are easy to play around with and create different styles. I highly recommend them to anyone who has to fight with normal bobby pins.

Mini Haul!: 07/25/2011 + NOTD

Hey Guys,

First off I'd like to say I'm glad to see there's actually people out in this Bloggerverse!! Second is I went shopping today and picked up a couple of things I'm excited about.

First I stopped at Lawton's Drugs and bought a Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creme in Milan. I love this color, the product goes on silky while still being easy to control and hasn't dried out my lips.. so far. I definitely want to go and pick up a few more colors.

Then I went to American Eagle where they had a sale.. I bought a color blocked tank top that was originally $20 for $10.. Jewelry was buy one get one free so I bought a wrap bracelet for $20 and I got the wrap watch for free! Yay! I love free stuff.. I still brag to people that I got free chocolate Cheerios a couple of days ago with my coupon! If you guys are fans of AE like me, I'd go down and check out all the good deals!

Then I went down to Winners and browsed the beauty section which is amazing. You never know what you'll find when you head to Winners. I managed to do a bit of rummaging and I found the Stila Trendsetting in Tokyo palette which was only $7.99! Yay Winners!

My nail of the day is something I learned from MissJenFabulous on youtube! She is one of my favs to watch and these are from her feather nails tutorial. In the picture they look like crackle nail polish but pinky promise they're feathers. I picked up some feathers from Michael's and used China Glaze's Sea Spray. I like the look but the feathers shed off so it gets slightly annoying after a day.

Are you guys gonna check out some sales this weekend? If so, which ones? And what do you think of feather nails?

P.s: Have you guys heard Call Your Girlfriend by Robyn? I'm addicted and I love the total simplicity of the video. Her dancing seems very '80's.. It's awesome.

Wish I had my Camera

While running some errands today I had some moments that really made me smile and wish I were the type of person that could inconspicuously take photos with my camera phone.

Sighting #1: 6 year old biker chick

Ohmigoodness. This little girl was fearless! Not only was she non-chalantly sitting on the back of her dad’s motorcycle while going through town. She would even return the waves from other people on motorcycles and in cars. She would even look around and enjoy the passing scenery all while wearing a fierce pink helmet with really awesome designs all over it. I wish I had guts like her and been able to get a picture cause she was adorable; but I was driving at the time and that just seemed like a dangerous choice

Sighting #2: Lady at the bus stop

I had to run into the bus station to pick up a package for work. As I was leaving, a lady walking behind me started getting all upset about something or other. So she started huffing and puffing, cursing under her breath, then nearly shoved me trying to get to the door before me. In my head I’m thinking, “Well excusssssssssseeee me” until I see the back of her shirt, which said, “We are all role models.” It was all I could do to keep from laughing. Traveling on a bus all day can make anyone cranky so next time she may want to rethink her wardrobe choice as to avoid another contradiction between her actions and t-shirt logo.

These weren’t anything super exciting, but they were moments that made me smile and maybe someone reading will get a little chuckle from the second one.

Braces Inspired Bracelets?

Hey Guys,

I found something interesting on the net today which I wanted to share. They are bracelets made from the elastics that are used to straighten out your teeth. If any of you have had braces, you know that these elastics were the epitome of EVIL. No joke.. For those of you who never had braces imagine feeling numbness and pain while feeling emense pressure on your teeth. I know that all sounds slightly contradictory but there is no other way to explain it. And this pain was with the normal single elastics on! Now, if you will, imagine this pain quadrupled while you are being kicked in the teeth.. That brings me to these little gems called orthodontic elastic thread.

Yes, for just 5 dollars a pop you can re-live the excruciating painful memories of these bad boys. OMG YES PLEASE! "Braced-lets" come in a rainbow of neons which we can all remember getting the pleasure of picking out when they were going on our teeth.

So being a business student and all, I begin to wonder how much are people making on these wonders? When my dentist was about to put these babies on my teeth, he rolled them off a large spool which you can buy for $4.50 for a 50ft spool according to www.orthosourceonline.com. Just out of curiosity, if my dentist made bracelets in his spare time he could make at least 100 bracelets out of one 50ft spool at $5 a bracelet. For the purpose of this blurb, I left out the cost of the couple of brackets used to keep the bracelets together. I'm sure they can't be much of an extra cost because whenever I'd break one off my teeth from eating jawbreakers, my dentist replaced them for free. So this would make him $500 from a $4.50 spool of elastic.. Genius no??

Braced-lets couldn't come along at a better time because the summer trends include childlike jewelry (ex: friendship bracelets) and I've even seen some my age wear silly bands. So think that not only will we see them in elementary/ middle school but we will see them in high schools and maybe even universities.

On the plus side the website is selling "Braced-lets Boxes" aka that damn retainer case that cost you $50 bucks from your dentist, so if I ever lose my retainer case I have a cheap alternative.

My question is would you guys wear this trend?

Favorite Safe Shower Products!

Hey Guys,

I'm a huge anti paraben freak.. I try to buy all "clean" products but with the slightly limited offerings where I live I'm not able to buy them all the time. Here are a few of my favorite paraben free shower products.

1. The Body Shops Rainforest Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner- I love the smell of these products. The smell reminds me of baby powder and these products leave my hair feeling very clean. The shampoo is hard to get a lather though so I recommend rubbing it between your hands first then massage on your head.

2. Burt's Bee Raspberry Conditioner- This stuff smells amazing! When I use this wonder in a bottle, it leaves my natural curls feeling soft and mixed with the smell of the rainforest moisture shampoo they just smells awesome.

3. The Body Shops Earth Lovers Apricot and Basil Body Wash- This stuff is free of sulphates, parabens and colorants. The smell reminds me more of peaches than apricot but I love anything that smells fruity. It lathers really well, leaves me feeling super clean and my skin feels great after using it.

4. EOS Ultra Moisturizing Pomegranate Raspberry Shave Creme- I love all eos products! They are one of my favorite companies. I do not enjoy eating raspberries but apparently I sure do like the smell! This leaves your legs soft, stubble free and although I haven't tried it, I've heard you can use this creme when your legs are wet or dry.

5. Lush's Buffy Body Butter- I use this twice a week and it leaves my skin silky soft. On days I use this there is no need for body lotion when your out of the shower because this will leave your skin feeling moisturized.

So these are some of my fav's! Are you guys paraben freaks like me? Do you have any recommendations for paraben free products?

A Little Advice

I was standing in line today at the grocery store and the person ahead of me had an issue with one of their items. I’m going to assume that an item was coming up for a price they didn’t agree with. Either way the missus was giving the poor cashier a time about it. Whenever I witness an event such as this I always take it a little personally because I was a grocery cashier for a few years and there is one thing I can tell you:

Don’t piss off the people who handle your food.

Believe it or not but cashiers have very little if nothing to do with the price that comes up on our screen after scanning an item. That’s the grocery/deli/produce/Gm/whatever-other-department’s problem. Sometimes even the scanning system itself won’t save a new price! I remember this one time a brand of crackers were on sale and for whatever the reason, even after resetting the price multiple times in the main computer system, the price would not come up as the sale price. So if something does not come up for the right price, don’t look at the cashier as if it’s their fault.

Anyways, the cashier who was handling the order explained that she had to call grocery and just check the price. This missus was having none of that, “I saw the price tag and I just told you how much it is.” Checking with grocery to confirm a price is not an attempt to insult you, it’s just a company policy set in place so a cashier can verify why a price had to receive an override and be changed in the system. A lot of the times the customer is actually right but it’s just a check because sometimes the tag you saw was for the 10oz can of beans and not the 20oz.

This happened to be the case for lady in front of me. The cashier explained that it was actually a different sized item that was on for the sale price. This put the lady in an awful huff and continued to mutter and complain the entire time her order was being processed. When it was all rang in the cashier politely told the lady to have a nice evening, turned to me and said a friendly hello.

I understand that everyone has bad days and on particular days it can be the smallest thing that may send you into a fit; but please, don’t take it out on your cashier. They scan your groceries but they do not enter prices into the system, put up sale signs, or stock the shelves with products (or at least in my store cashiers didn’t). Do not blame them for something they have no control over. Cashiers also can’t help it if departments do not answer intercom pages or calls to their phone.

Cashiers may not be able to take out any frustration by spitting in your burger like they could at a fast food joint, but become a customer that always has to cause a scene ever single visit trust me, you’re going to be assigned a nickname so that you can be identified once you come in the store and straws can be drawn over who has to deal with you.

To all you cashiers out there, grocery or otherwise I salute you, for you guys all do job I would never think twice about going back to.

Lady Gaga- The Edge of Glory

Hi Folks!

This is a bit different for me but I was inspired to write about Lady Gaga's new video for The Edge of Glory after I checked it out on youtube shortly after the premiere on "So You Think You Can Dance".

For those of you who haven't seen it, here it is..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeWBS0JBNzQ&feature=fvsr

As much as I love Lady Gaga, I found this video really boring.. I'm not sure what she was going for but it didn't really work for me. Basically the whole video is just Gaga shifting her weight around a building and having some song time..nothing more, nothing less. I think all her videos usually have some wow factor and this was just way to toned down.. Usless her wow factor was the fact the Ms. Gaga was toned down.. Is she playing with our heads here?

This song has no made it into the books of one of my favorites ever so maybe I'm a little biased because to me, nothing could live up to the song. I should really get Bec's opinion on this one!

One another note, I love how my friend and I were both inspired by music videos this week.. We share parts of a brain.

Well by the looks of this post I could have almost put this on twitter but it's totally not my fault.. It's Lady Gaga's <3 :)

Next to you-Chris Brown ft. Justin Bieber

I do not understand Chris Brown. After beating his girlfriend, going through anger management, and then breaking a window on the set of Good Morning America, Brown has continued to make some money off his record sales. While doing some browsing on Youtube today, I stumbled across this little gem.

This video should be considered for Video on Trial.  Under normal circumstances I would not be able to watch this video for more than 20 seconds tops- especially with Justin Bieber in it. A special exception was made in this case, as I couldn’t stop laughing.

For starters we have Chris Brown’s hair. Seriously? Does he honestly think that looks presentable? At least he isn’t wearing that ridiculous outfit from Good Morning America, cause he looked…well ridiculous pretty much covers it. I think this photo sums it up pretty well.

Secondly there was the Cell Phone Chick. In the midst of all the city destruction that seems to be going on, CPC seems stunned and just stands amongst the sea of running people trying to dial a number. Ok, I can understand trying to call someone during some disaster, but multi-task and at the least walk while on the phone. If you can’t manage that your best bet is to move to the sidewalk or something. That way there is a smaller chance of getting trampled in the crowd.

Next we have the outfits, specifically Chris Brown’s. My favorite is the overly tight black getup he wears while dancing next to Bieber. That getup looks like something Chris Tucker would’ve had to wear as Ruby Rhod. Added to the way he flails about with his dancing I suddenly had the urge to watch The Fifth Element. Actually the dancing in this video was also something that made me laugh.

Lets not forget the awesome dramatic sequences! I was particularly fond of the sequence where Brown finds his love interest but a deadly ravine blocks his path. For a second, I thought he was just going to run away and abandon her but he did something even better and tries to jump the ravine. As he was moving mid-air I’m thinking “Fall! Fall!” and he actually does! He doesn’t make it! This just goes to show that they were going for accuracy in this music video. This ain’t the movies where heroes can defy the laws of physics and jump beyond their capabilities. This is a music video where they try and abide by the laws of physics and men cannot leap over large ravines.

I feel kinda bad for aiding in getting this video more views, but it couldn’t be helped. It’s like crappy T.V. you know is rotting your brain but you continue to watch anyway. I’m just not looking forward to when I actually start hearing the song on the radio.

First Apartment Drama: Part 1

In all honesty, I’m exhausted cause my job has been a little crazy lately; also, I feel as though this post could go on forever so I’m going to do it as a series. So without further ado, I give you First Apartment Drama: Part 1.

Now that it is June, those students wishing to avoid the residence lifestyle are either now the proud owners of their first place or still on the hunt. Having been through this searching process and into my second year of apartment ownership, I thought I could share some lessons I have learned along the way.

The first thing you are going to do before you can get settled into your new pad is make a few lists. If you are a person who dislikes making lists and following them, suck it up. You’re supposed to be somewhat of an adult now that you have your own place and that requires some organization. List making can be fun if you make use of some snazzy Apps.

Once you have collected your preferred list making material start jotting down all the things that you will need. Walk around your parents’ place and write down anything you may have missed. Include everything and I mean EVERYTHING; furniture, cleaning supplies, dishes, towels, you name it. When you’re done start crossing off anything that you already own.

With your new list of remaining items, it is time to start visiting family members and friends. Someone on your contacts list may have an old coffee table they are looking to get rid of or maybe they are updating the living room curtains and instead of throwing them out you can take them. This will defiantly reduce the amount of things you will actually have to buy. You may even score a big item like a couch!

Cross any obtained items off your list. Unfortunately anything still there will have to be bought but there are still plenty of ways to save some moolah. Keep your eye out for yard sales; browse the second hand furniture stores, and frequent websites like www.kijiji.ca. You never know what you’ll find for a steal. If you happen to find something that has seen better days and in need of some updating, pick up some paint at your local hardware store. A little will go a long way so even with a small tin you may be able to use it on a few pieces of furniture.

Get yourself to the nearest dollar store cause it is my favorite place for finding apartment things. You won’t be able to get everything there, but you should be able to get a good haul for a lot less than if you had gotten everything at Wal-mart. Make sure you pick up a basic tool set. You don't need anything fancy, just items for small repairs and furniture assembly.

Although you should be able to save on a lot of items for your apartment, you should use these savings to go towards things that you should NOT skimp on. These items include:

·      A pots and pans set: Invest in a good cookware set and you’ll have it for well beyond your university years. You’ll also save a bundle in food because your food won’t be coming out a burnt mess like it would if you had gotten a cheap set.

·      Cooking utensils: get a good set of kitchen knives and read up on how to properly care for them. Try to get as many good quality products as possible such as a whisk, grater, masher, rolling pin, and spatchula. If you must skimp, do so on items you know you won’t use often.

·      Kitchen appliances: The kitchen in my opinion is not somewhere I like to skimp because it’s the room that gets the most use. Don’t get the cheapest thing possible for things like toasters, kettles, and other appliances. Pick items that you are going to use most and invest most in these. A good example is a George Forman Grill. These bad boys are awesome and you can cook so much with them.

·      Mattress: who wants to buy a mattress secondhand? You don’t know where it has been and what it has picked up along the way. The mattress could also be quite old so you’ll end up having to replace it in less time anyways than if you had bought a new one. Also, if you buy new you can shop around and find what mattress is most comfortable for you. Skimp all you want on the frame; heck, you can even keep it on the floor! Just really try and avoid skimping on your mattress.

·      Vacuum: If you have an apartment with carpet this is a very important item especially if you have pets. Got an apartment without carpet? Invest in a really good hand held vacuum for getting into corners, along baseboards, and those spills a broom can’t clean up as well ie: spilt flour. If you a proud owner of a four legged fur ball, I highly recommend the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser. It is a lifesaver and it cleans up everything. A good vacuum will last for years if you take care of it, much longer than a low quality one.

Hopefully you’ll find some of this helpful. Congrats on your first place!

Summer Wishlist

Summer Wishlist

Hey Internet World,

Since summer is here I thought I'd bring along my summer wishlist! These are a few items I hope to add to my matchbox sized door room. I'm soon going to have to find other means of storage because my room is becoming about as out of control as Mo'Nique's red carpet leg hair.

So a few staple clothing items that are in for this summer are different bright colored shorts and jean jackets. I'm going to try to go cheap on these though because as we all know trends don't stay around for long.

I also want to pick up a few different colored American Apparel basic t's. These are great to wear by themselves with some statement jewelry and a pair of skinny jeans. They could be dressed up a cardigan and some cute shoes. The possibilities are endless!

Another thing on my list is a pair of Tom's Shoes. I love these! Not only are they super cute and feel like slippers but when you buy a pair, a pair is donated to a child in need. The only problem I have now is choosing between the black canvas or a pair of the glitters. What the heck! Maybe I'll treat myself to 2 pairs; )

Next I have a watch from the brand Toy Watch.. I've seen these watches on Miley Cyrus, Ashley Tisdale and Sophia Bush. They would go great with any outfit and come in a huge range or colors!

Some beauty item on my list are:

Benefit Georgia box powder which will give the perfect summer peachy glow

Benefit Hoola Bronzer which will give a warm glow.. Right now I'm using NYC Sunny and I want something a bit deeper when I get a bit darker.

Benefit Life on the A List is a sheer pink gloss.. I love the look of lips with just a hint of color

Maybelline Born With It lipstick is a pretty pink lipstick that will look gorgeous on tan skin

Covergirl Wetslicks in Tangerine Splash is a lipgloss that will give lips a hint of orange which is good for the folks out there like me who will not do an all out orange pout

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau so Fresh which is a lighter and fruity version on the original Daisy perfume.

Oh and has anybody seen Katy Perry's new music video? I've been loving that too :)

Pucker Up

This is a first for me, a beauty product review. I’m going to go list a few of my favorite lip care products that I believe everyone should know about.

1.     Sweet Lips Lip Scrub by Lush.

Exfoliating is important for you lips too, especially when the summer heat can easily leave them dry and cracked. Sweet lips has a brown sugar taste which I love but it also comes in two other flavors, bubblegum and mint julip. The exfoliating crystals are not overly hard so they shouldn’t leave you in any pain as long as you remember to follow the directions and gently rub it on your lips.

2.  Burt’s Bees Lip Balm

After using Burt’s Bees two years ago from the suggestion of a friend, I refuse to use any other type of lip balm. It’s made from natural products and it really works. No matter how chapped my lips may get this stuff clears it up in half the time of other products I’ve used. It’s not sticky and once applied your lips will instantly feel smoother and moisturized.

3.     Sexy Mother Pucker
Honestly, with a clever name like that who wouldn’t wanna try this stuff out? Upon application one may experience some harmless tingling as this gloss boasts to plump up your lips for a sexy puckered look. Personally I’ve never noticed too much of a lip size difference but there is some and I love the color and shine from this product. It is available in the colors plum, peach, nude, and clear. I’m a big fan of plum and peach but the nude is not my favorite. A note of interest though, if you go a little crazy with the application it can feel like a lot on your lips, a little goes a long way with this stuff. Also, this stuff can get sticky so I wouldn’t wear it on a windy day with your hair down. I’ve found that if you apply a little lip balm (like Burt’s Bees) before applying the gloss, it helps with the sticky factor. Some may argue that defeats the purpose of wearing lip gloss but that’s their opinion.

Well those are a few of my favorite lip care products, until next time,

Rebecca

Hands on the Wheel Please

There are many different emotions a person can go through while driving a car that does not belong to them. If it happens to be something like a go-kart you feel like a kid in a candy store. You can zoom around as fast as you like and pretend you’re in NASCAR. If it is something along the lines of a company car, you’re an emotional roller coaster.

With the company car first you may feel excitement at driving a snazzy car that is kept clean and in top-notch shape. You can drive around feeling like you’re important since you get full use of the company rig. But as you’re driving along, the person behind you is getting a little too close. Suddenly you find yourself muttering, “Hey now, two car lengths buddy! Two!”

You now notice every piece of debris on the road and take extra care to avoid the potholes. Welcome to my world.

During the month of June my job involves a lot of driving, as I have to go to sites all over the province. While I’m driving the company car I notice how many people don’t follow the rules of the road and that an alarming amount seem to be at an age where the only driving wheel they should be in control of are those belonging to a video game. For instance today I’m 99% sure it was a twelve year old kid that got the bright idea to try and run me off the road by creating a third lane by straddling the solid line on a merge.

Whether I’m driving the company car or my own, I am sick and tired of dodging idiots who are blabbing on the phone, doing their makeup, and eating a breakfast sandwich all at the same time. Your hands are for driving, not your elbows. Take yourself to the mall, get a hands-free calling device, do your makeup before you leave the house, and refrain from eating a five-course meal during your commute because I’m sure that you want to arrive home in one piece just as much as I do.

Safe Driving,
Rebecca

May Favorites~!*

May Favorites
Here are my favorites for the month of May!

1) Feather Hair Extensions: I went to the salon for feather hair extensions and I picked out 3 that I really liked. I like that your not limited to different hair styles when you get them because they can be curled or straightened.

2) OPI's Pirate's of the Caribbean collection: Anybody probably could have sensed from my review that I'm in love with this collection. The colors perfect for summer or winter, they are opaque and most of 4 of them are very unique colors.

3) Benefit's Confessions of a Concealaholic: When I run of the products in this kit, I will probably be picking up another one. I especially love that there is 2 different color concealers so you can mix your own color.

4) Conair Infiniti You Curl: This curling iron can give you anything from beachy waves to the perfect Taylor Swift curls.

5)Tresemme Heat Protectant: This is essential in the summer time to prevent the sun from fraying locks. I have also been straightening my hair quite a bit this month and along with m next product it has saved my hair from split ends.

6) John Freida's Straight Fixation: I have been using this for a couple of years now. I have natural curls and this product keeps my hair straight for at least 24 hours and it is also a heat protecting so I use this along with my Tresemme heat protectant for extra defense against the heat.

7) Moroccan Oil: This stuff is a miracle in a bottle! The only problem I have with it is the price but I bought the smallest bottle and it has lasted 6 months. I think after this bottle I may try to find a cheaper alternative. I don't recommend using this when you want to use heat thought or you'll cook your hair. When you want to wear your hair natural, use a small dab of this stuff and it will smooth out all the frizz you have.

So have you guys tried any of these products? What do you think of them? Do you have any recommendation for alternatives?

Still an Old Fart

A few nights ago, my co-blogger Ashlee started bringing up the topic of Twitter again. She was met with a blunt "No." Back in November I addressed my issues with Twitter in a post on our old blog and I thought, "now Rebecca, aren't we being a little close minded about all this?"

I decided to check things out on the website and I still don't understand!

For one, I think Twitter hates me. I couldn't get beyond the homepage because it took too long to load the little "About" section at the bottom. Seasons changed while I waited for the darn thing to load. I just kept getting a big white screen when other websites load perfectly fine. Twitter must have found out about my previous post...

Then I did what I always do in these situations, I Googled. FYI: I am the queen of Google. It's really unhealthy how much I rely on it but it has helped me in so many ways from finding a perfect bruschetta recipe to instructions on fixing my original duck hunt game. Anyways, I found this neat little video called "Twitter in Plain English"

Plain English? Yes; convincing?no.

The video focuses on how Twitter brings this lady Carla closer to all the people she cares about. The video explains that Twitter is useful because now you don't have to email your friend and say "I'm out for coffee!" because you can just tweet it.

I'm not saying Twitter is evil or stupid, I just don't understand it. Personally I don't feel the need to update the world of my every thought or daily activity. Once a day on a blog will suffice for now :P

For anyone who is interested, this is the link to my previous rant on Twitter.

Enjoy,
Rebecca

Haul: Shoppers Drug Mart

Hey Guys!,

I went to Shoppers Drug Mart today because they had a secret 20x the points event. I picked up a few things that I have been eyeing for a while that I can't wait to try out and one repurchase

First thing I was super excited about is Benefit's High Beam. I have been wanting this forever! It is perfect for highlighting your cheekbones, cupids bow, eyebrows or use it all over your cheeks for a pretty glow.

Then I picked up the Maybelline Falsies Flared.. I loved the original Maybelline falsies and I love the look of flared lashes so I can't wait to take it one a test run.

Then I bought the EOS shave cream on sale for $3.99.. I've heard you can use this stuff on wet or dry legs.. I bought mine in pomegranate raspberry and it smells great.

I also picked up L'oreal color juice in tuitti fruitti because they were on sale for $4.59.. I was gonna pick it up at Wal-Mart yesterday for $9.59 and I'm glad I didn't.. It's a really pretty pink color and smells super good.

Then I picked up my Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Leave in Conditioner which was also on sale.. I.love.this.stuff.

The kind lady also gave me some samples of Vichy Capital Soleil ultra light lotion SPF 50 and La Roche toner for sensitive skin.

That's all for now~!

Tag!: Summer Besties

Hi Blogger!! ;),

So a new tag going around the youtube beauty world called the Summer Besties Tag. This tag was started by Macbarbie07 and if you've never heard of her you've gotta check her out. She's so creative, has awesome style,  I find it super hard to believe she's only 15!

So here are the questions for the tag!

Favorite summer....
1) Lip product
2) Blush
3) Nail Polish
4) Liquid face product
5) Powder face product
6) Hair product
7) Eye product
8) Self Tanner (or any tanning item)
9) Fashion accessory
10) Clothing piece

So here we go!

1) My favorite lip product is Smith's Rosebud Salve. It keeps your lips super hydrated, very lightweight and gives a sheer red tint that's perfect for summer.

2) I don't wear a lot of blush but when I do I wear Benefit's Benetint. You can have a pinkish glow or layer it to get a darker red cheek. I have the Benefit Pocketpal which comes with a handy clear gloss. I have also been eyeing Posietint for a while.. I think it would be a super pretty sheer pink. I've also heard that Benefit is coming out with Chachatint which is a mango tinted lip and cheek stain. Sounds like it would be awesome with a tan!

3) My favorite nail polish.. this is super hard for a nail polish addict.. I would have to say Essie's turquoise and caicos or OPI's Mermaid's Tears (these could possibly change any day)

4) My favorite liquid face product is my Stila Illuminizing Tinted Moisturizer and my Hard Candy Sheer Envy Tinted Moisturizer. My Stila moisturizer is a shade too light and my Hard Candy is a shade too dark so I mix the both and it comes up with my perfect shade! Plus they both have SPF so it will keep your face safe from the sun and premature wrinkles!
5) My favorite summer powder face product is the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder and the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. In the summer heat our faces could start to look oily but with these powders my face stays matte all day long.

6) My favorite summer hair product is Moroccan Oil and Garnier Fructis Sleek n Shine Leave in Conditioning Cream. Both these product go an amazing job at keeping my naturally curly frizz away and keeps my hair from going extremely dry.
7) My favorite summer eye product(s) *[i was out of control on this one] is Urban Decy primer potion so my eyeshadow doesn't slide off my face in the heat, Urban Decay Naked Palette for any neutral look I can imagine, my BH cosmetics 120 Color Eyeshadow palette for any color look my heart desires and Benefit RSVP for lazy days when /i want shimmer and a shadow that won't budge.

8) My favorite self tanner is L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Gel and Jergens Natural Glow moiturizer. These both give non-streaky beautiful glows.

9) My favorite fashion accessory is for summer is bracelets! I love my bracelets stacked with lots of different colors.

10) My favorites summer clothing item is shoes~! I love sandals for a warm day and my Converse on a rainy day.
